Georgians for a Safer Tree Industry (GFASTI) is a professional and trade association, organized as a 501(c)(6), for people and businesses in Georgia's tree care industry. Its work centers on worker safety, consumer protection, and professional standards.
Tree care is widely recognized as one of the most hazardous occupations in the country. GFASTI brings tree care professionals together to address those risks.
In December 2024, a Georgia House study committee recommended licensing and regulation of the tree care industry, based on a draft proposed by GFASTI. See how we describe our advocacy.
To improve safety in Georgia's tree care industry, promote responsible business practices, and protect the consumers who hire tree care companies.
Encouraging proper training and equipment use across the industry.
Supporting licensing initiatives and professional standards.
Helping property owners hire qualified, accountable professionals.
GFASTI represents the interests of Georgia tree care professionals in conversations about licensing, workplace safety, and consumer protection, and works with policymakers on those topics.
Individual companies have limited reach. An association gives the industry a shared voice on safety and regulation.
Meet other Georgia tree care businesses facing the same challenges and share what works.
Membership signals that your business takes safety and professionalism seriously.

Tree care involves chippers, chainsaws, heights, falling timber, and electrical hazards. Training, proper equipment, and accountable business practices reduce those risks.
GFASTI encourages safety training and responsible practice, and points members to established national resources such as OSHA, the Tree Care Industry Association, and the International Society of Arboriculture on our resources page.
